Roses and Thorns

Have you ever played the game Roses and Thorns?
I think it's going to be a regular thing when I have my own family someday.
It's a game you can play around the dinner table or at FHE or anywhere really, where each person gets a turn saying one thorn (bad thing) about their day, and then one rose (good thing) about their day.
Everybody gets a chance to feel bad about something they were dissapointed in, but in the end the roses become the focus of the game and you forget all about the thorns!
Let's talk about some roses and thorns from this week!

Breaking the denim-on-denim rule... made me feel empowered to make a fashion no-no work. :)

Thursday was sort of a hard day in Institute. After about an hour or so of trying, I just couldn't try and force social interaction anymore with people who obviously didn't want to talk to me. So I literally curled up in the corner and read The Bourne Identity for two hours... two hours people. T'was not one of my best moments, but hey... books are cool too.

Remember that horrible incident with my car visor? Yeah, that was bad. BUT NO MORE! :D My dear friend Nick just so happened to have a container of Crazy Glue at his home... and we decided to teach that stupid visor who was boss... and you know what? That glue works so well it's SCARY! :) No more visors crashing down anymore!

I seriously have the best jobs ever! I get to work respite for special needs children who are seriously the most fun and adorable people ever! It comes so much more naturally to me than I ever expected it would, and the fact that I get to be paid for it??? It seriously just all feels too good to be true. Plus I get to babysit still on the weekends which is always the most fun job ever! This past weekend the little girls I was watching lost their Don't Eat Pete board (the game we always have to play) so we got to color a new one! Getting paid to color...? It just doesn't get better than this. I'm also looking seriously into starting a couple piano students. Yep... life is just really good. :)

And look at that! The roses become the majority party. :)
Yep, I am fo' sho' playing this game with my future family.
And they will love it.
