A Sappy Post About Sappy Things

Now miss Mimi... if you are reading this and getting all steamed up about me stealing you blog ideas I will have you know that this idea is only partially stolen. Seeing as we are best friends and constantly living each others' lives my mother and I had just had this conversation before you wrote about it on your blog, and I now deem it my turn to write about it on mine. If you've got any problems with that? Come over and fight me. :)

My mother and I were having  a conversation the other day, and the conversation went a little something like this...
"Well, yes. I am very excited that Hugh Jackman is playing Jean Valjean but... I don't know. I just don't really get excited about actors."
"What? What do you mean dearest mother?"
"Well, what I mean is that I fall in love with characters not actors."
And just like that, a little light bulb went off in my head! She was right! I always fall in love with characters whether they be in books, movies, or both, but either way... the actor who plays them is only a small part in why I love them, and probably wouldn't even be that cool in real life outside of their character.
So then I did a little bit more thinking, and do you know what I figured? Each character that I sincerely love has at least one quality in what most women would consider the "perfect man". So if men want to achieve this level of manhood what should they do..?
READ!!! :D
Now, this is just in the opinions of Jadyn Maree. I know that all of you lovely women have your own "book loves", but here are some of the favorites of Lady Jane...

Lessons That All Boys Could Learn From Books... and movies:

1. Ron Weasley: Best Friend First
Photobucket
Okay, how adorable is the Hermione-Ron story? I think that it's safe to say that we all know it, but what always gets me about these two cuties is that they have loved each other since they were little first years... but not romantically. They were best friends first which grew into their love thereby, in my opinion, making it that much stronger!

2. Prince James (Charming): Honor
Photobucket
Okay, if you don't watch Once Upon A Time, it's time that you got off of your high horse, jumped on the bandwagon, and stinkin' watched it. It is amazing. And Prince Charming is probably one of the most perfect men to ever be put on screen. I am constantly blown away at the level of respect that he always holds Snow White up to, and his level of commitment he has for her. He respects her decisions (even if they aren't always the smartest), fights for her, protects her, and loves her unconditionally. In my opinion, what more could a woman ask from her man?

3. Okay, this isn't a character... I just pinned the picture on Pinterest and fell in love.
Photobucket
Okay, okay, you got me... but this picture was just too perfect NOT to put into this post! A man who can take care of children (in a woman's eyes) is about a gazillion times more attractive than the most drop dead gorgeous movie star out there! So guys... if you want to look more attractive than OUAT's Captain Hook (a nearly impossible feat... we all know that)? Rock a baby, wrestle with a toddler, and most importantly: change a diaper!!! You will gain an infinite amount of brownie points if you are a man who is willing to change a diaper. Oh, and that ring? It's a symbol of love and dedication. MARRY a girl before you knock her up for goodness sake!

4. Peeta Mellark: Selflessness and Tenderness (because he is just that good!)
Photobucket
Oh my gracious... my Peeta. What can I say about him other than he is absolutely perfect in every single way? But two of my favorite things about him (because I just couldn't bring myself to narrow it down any further) both have to do with the way he treats Katniss. The first is his selflessness. The minute they enter the arena his entire mission is to protect Katniss, not once does he worry about his own safety! He even joins the pack of careers (a life threatening feat in it of itself) to make sure that they are always kept off the scent of her trail. In Catching Fire he is still the same... even though it breaks his heart he lets Katniss sleep with him to keep her nightmares away (no, not that kind... get your minds out of the gutter!), he endures torture to protect her once taken captive by the capitol in Mockingjay and seriously... I can't even name all of the times he puts the needs of Katniss before his own. And another honorable trait of Mr. Mellark is his tenderness. Katniss is just about the most guarded, rough and tough chick Peeta could have ever fallen in love with but he always seems to treat her with the utmost gentleness and understanding. In the cave scene in the books (even though he is feverish, infected, and partially bleeding out mind you) he is constantly making sure she is warm enough, safe enough, and comfortable enough. At one point he even rubs her feet for her! I mean, who knows what her feet may have looked like or smelled like after that long in the arena without a shower, but did he still do it? You bet he did! I just really love Peeta... end of story.

5. Marius & Enjorlas: Passion
Photobucket
Oh these two... I can't speak for all women in this point, but when a man is passionate about something and works hard for that something it is something that can get my heart a pitter pattering. To me, a man who can work hard for something that matters to him is a man who can protect his wife and family with just the same amount of passion. And these two have passion to spare... and there wasn't one woman in the theatre of Les Mis who weren't swooning over these two.

6. Tom Lefroy: Spontaneity
Photobucket
Okay, for those of you who know my love for James McAvoy, I know what you're thinking. "Jadyn, you hypocritical little blogger, you! You said you fall in love with characters! Not actors!" And people, people, calm yourselves. Did you ever think to ask yourselves exactly WHY I fell in love with the actor James McAvoy and why I can barely bring myself to watch many other of his movies besides this one? It's because of his character Tom Lefroy... oh Mr. Lefroy. He may be one of my very favorite "Austen" men ever, and one of my favorite things about him is his ability to have fun and to bring Jane out of her shell/comfort zone. The way he'll suddenly pop up (like in the scene above) is one of my favorite things about him. It's totally adorable, super fun, and completely romantic.

7. Jim Halpert: Humor
Photobucket
If you watch the office... and you DON'T love Jim Halpert... you may or may not have heart. I urge you to either consult a doctor or get in contact with Jefferson so that he can take you to Wonderland to confront the Queen of Hearts because, odds are, she took it. Anyway, Jim is such a breath of fresh air compared to some lovely characters I love because he is constantly laughing, joking, pranking, anything to lighten the mood. He is adorable and makes me laugh... like, always... and that is HIGH up there on mine, and many other womens' lists.

8. Noah Calhoun: Dedication and Romance (because he also is just that good!)
Photobucket
Oh Noah... you may be the most loved man in all of literature. The way he climbs the ferris wheel to get a date with Allie, the 365 letters, the rebuilding of the house, the reading her the story when they're old, and the countless romantic lines ("If you're a bird, I'm a bird" may be one of my favorites) makes him one of the most epic romantics that anyone has ever known! His dedication to Allie is never a question. It is her and only her, and when he wants her he goes after her! I pulls the emergency break on the bus when he simply thinks he saw her in a cafe window! He writes her every single day for a year even though she doesn't ever reply (not her fault... but still)! And his sense of romantics is seriously so spot on. I think every girl just about ate her heart up the moment her started slow dancing with her in the middle of the street. Oh Noah... I just can't.

And there you have it. :)
Stay tuned folks for a New Years Resolution post coming up (hopefully) very very soon!
Happy Monday everybody!
