Resolutions Y'all

Now mind you I haven't always been this way, but I am a BIG TIME New Years Resolution Maker. I love them. I love making them, signing a contract with myself to keeping them, and then reflecting on them when I'm done. And I take it very seriously too! This past year I had two main Resolutions that I focused on and I, in my professional opinion, think that I did a great job at magnifying them! (...*giggle*... magnifiy... such a mormon word :).)

Last Years Resolutions:
1- No Soda. Not one Drop.
2- Be nicer to and about myself. No more comparing myself to others. Basically, just loving myself more.

The whole No Soda deal? Nailed it! I abstained from soda for an entire year and celebrated with a can of Root Beer on New Years day, and you know what? It wasn't as great as I remembered it to be. :) I think the only soda I'll really be drinking these days is Sonic Cherry Limeades (my absolute fAvOrItE! It hurt my heart to give those up last year) and BJs root beer (because seriously people, you have to be crazy not ot crave that stuff).

And the whole being nicer to and about myself deal? Well if you were to go through my posts from January 1, 2010, to December 31, 2010 I think you would be able to notice the significant change. I know that I have, and I can feel it! I love it! I have so much more confidence in who I am and who I want to be than I ever did before! :)

So I put a lot of thought into this years resolutions, and my problem wasn't trying to think of something, it was trying to narrow down everything I wanted to do! Honestly, there were so many resolutions that I was in love with that I wanted to do for myself, but when I stepped back and took a look at them, it wasn't humanly possible for me to expect myself to take it all on. So this was my comprimise. Every year I'm going to have three categories of resolutions: One thing that I want to give up, One habit that I want to develop, and One thing that I want to accomplish. I'm excited to tell you... :) So are you ready? Here we go!

One Thing That I am Giving Up For the Year of 2011 is:

Candy!Photobucket

Yep, I'm really going to do it. Anything that comes from the store in a wrapper, bag, or box is banned from Jadyn Maree for an entire year. Chips are ok, baked goods are ok, and anything homemade is ok (I mean, c'mon, let's be reasonable), but nothing else. I'm really excited for the challenge, and it's just a step harder than the Soda challenge was. I'm ready for the candy free year!

One Habit That I Want to Create in My Life is:

Ok, I couldn't pick just one, so I had to settle with two for this one, but my habit is consistent Scripture Reading and Clarinet Practicing! :D

I plan on keeping a calendar with stickers to mark my progress, and I have a little Book of Mormon reading chart taped to my bathroom mirror... I'm ready to get spiritual and talented. :) Regional Honor Band and Celestial Glory here I come!

One Thing I Want to Accomplish is:Photobucket

I want to be more accomplished in my crafting talents. I've already worked my tail off in my musical talents (which as you can see by my habit resolution, I'm still working on) and I'd like to put the same drive in my efforts toward my ability to create. So in the year 2011, I'd like to make one dress, one cross stitch, one Snuggie (you heard me), and two quilts. :) I'd say twelve months is plenty of time for all of that, considering how easy it is to make a Snuggie, and considering that Alexa Dyan is going ot hook me up with all of her dress-making knowledge, and considering that my mother is a talented quilt maker and I'll have no problem perfecting this art, and considering that it's not a matter of making a cross stitch... it's finishing one. :) I'm rather excited for this resolution too. :)

P.S. Remember when I told you that my room was clean? I wasn't kidding! ChEcK iT oUt!!!!! :D

That is all folks.
