Monday:
-I slept in late because I had forgotten to reset my alarm clock.
-My first hour of the day is Choir. I stand in the third row. The bases stand directly behind me. At the end of class Mimi and I started packing our bags up as fast as we could so that we could be on time to Government, and as I am doing so my SUPER awesome friend Nick is like, "Hey Jadyn, check your phone, I just sent you a text... like, right now." And of course I'm like, "Oh sure, just let me finish packing up!" So he agonizingly waits for me to finish packing up, then I strap on my backpack, grab my things and check the message on my way out the door. It read, "Jadyn, I'm telling you this because I'm your friend. You have a big hole in your pants, in your butt." I froze, spun around, and only saw his painful nod. I HAD A HOLE IN THE BUTT OF MY PANTS! Like, right on the seam down the middle (not even by the pocket, just smack dab in the middle). Luckily my underwear was black that day and blended in somewhat with the pants, and luckily my mother was babysitting my cousin Lexee that day was was able to drop off a pair of pants on her way to my aunt's house, and luckily Nick was man enough to actually tell me that my fricken pants were ripped! And seriously, what a wonderful guy to text it to me rather than tell me out loud and make a scene! Thank you so much Nick, you're the best!!!
-Second day in my Intro to Weights class... what?!? I didn't tell you about that? Ok, backstory time.
So it's the day before Christmas Break, and I am absolutely positive that I need to drop my Pre-Calculus class. I had struggled all Semester in that class, worked my ghetto little booty off (seriously guys, just take one look at the notes I took in that class, and the amount of time I spent in tutoring after school nearly every day was rediculous) harder than I ever have in any other class I've ever taken, and I STILL failed nearly every test. My teacher was just convinced at first that I hadn't been trying hard enough, but after a while I think he started to pity me. I knew two things for sure at the end of the semester: I didn't need a Senior year of math to graduate, and I didn't need this type of stress and discouragement in my life anymore. So I went to my counselor (who I LOVE) and begged her to take me out of the class! She said that technically she wasn't supposed to be doing shcedule adjustments this late in the Semester, but that she'd do anything for her Seniors, so whatever I needed she'd help me with! She pulled me from Pre-Calculus and asked me what class I'd like to be put in and I told her that I was taking a Semester of P.E. online but that I still needed another Semester of it to get full credit. I was so hoping to get into a Yoga class because dudes... Yoga is my thing. I love it quite a lot! But alas, there was no hour that had yoga that I didn't already have a class in that couldn't me moved. So I asked her what was a vailable sixth and seventh hour (the two hours that I had available) and she said either Begining Dance or Intro to Weight Lifting... so I chose the lesser of the two evils. Intro to Weight Lifting.
So being in a Weight Lifting class with a bunch of buff althete girls (luckily it's an all girl class) who know exactly what they're donig and look like some kind of machine when they're working out is just a little bit intimidating to me, a tiny little Fine Arts girl who is just taking this class to graduate and hasn't had a P.E. class since she was like... 13. Needless to say, Monday's workout beat my butt pretty good. :)
-I was called to be the Semianry Class President... daunting.
Tuesday:
-Screwed up my playing test.
-I got slaughtered in my first day of what my Weight Class calls a "rest day". Guys, don't listen to ANYTHING those people say! Their idea of a rest was running two miles in like fifteen-eighteen ish minutes... TWO MILES! What we had to do was jog an entire lap around the track, and then we were allowed to take a little recovery walk for a quarter of the track, and then run an entire lap again. We were instructed to do this eight times, and to try to make our laps two minutes at the most. Dudes. I. Died. I only made it to lap five and a half before I felt like passing out and had to sneak walk the rest. And even then I only got to seven laps. Needless to say I was totally beat to a pulp. My head was throbbing and my arms and legs were tingling and my lungs were burning and my mouth was all sticky because I had hardly any time to take a water break. Needless to say my muscles became increasingly sorer as the day went on and I nearly cried when my mom had to put calemine lotion on my shoulders and legs before I went to bed. Needless to say I was terrified to go back to the gym the next day.
-On the bright side I have the most fun Laurels class and they did a fabulous job cheering me up at mutual! :D I love love love Lindsay, Kellie, and Kendra!
Wednesday:
-Nothing to report except for my workout in Weights Class. All day I had been praying that we wouldn't be doing any lower body workouts (where I was hurting the most) and lo and behold, I walk into the weights room after out warm up lap and hear those magic words, "Today you guys will be on the Squats Machine, Bench Press, Power Lift, and Lunges with the Auxilaries". Oh dear. BUT! Here is the wonderful part! My lovely friend Jalyn wanted to work out with me that day. One thing you have to know about Jalyn... she's a beast. That's all. She's a total full fleged athlete and probably one of the most accomplished of the ladies in the entire room! She was in my ward when I lived in Mesa, and while I loved her dearly, I was more than intimidated to let her see what a wimp I was! She and Jessica (the sweet girl I had been working out with normally) decided that since I only lifted the bar (don't hate, that thing weighs 45 lbs!) that I would go first and then they could add their weight after. For each station I was SO SURPRISED at how supportive and helpful she was! And guys, though I am a terrible lifter don't think that I slack in that class... I definately work as hard as I can. And hearing Jalyn say at the end of class, "You're a hard worker Jadyn, I'm impressed" made my day. Though I felt like a little noodle walking out of class, I felt like I could really maybe do this. :)
Thursday:
-Another "rest day" in Weight Lifting, only this time we only had to run two miles half and half! Meaning that we would sprint half of the track and then walk the other half eight times! And guess who finally completed her full eight laps?!?!? :D This girl! Though, again, I was about to keel over, I finished. :)
-Have I told you guysies about the A Cappella group that me and seven other of my friends have been putting together for the talent show? Well, it was my friend Caleb's idea and Camille and I were put in charge of arranging the entire thing. It seemed like the whole thing would be a crash and burn experiment until about a week and a half ago. We started legitimately practicing in double time! The entire thing wasn't even fully arranged until last Saturday! And guys, it just EXPLODED! It turned out more amazing than we ever thought it would! Thursday was our last practice before auditions and the FIRST time we actually got our beat boxer to show up. I don't think he had been stoked at all about being part of Name Pending (what we've been calling ourselves... clever, no? :) ) until he actually heard it. He looked about ready to cry! He was probably the most excited out of all of us to put everything together! Seriously... our best rehearsal yet, by far. At the end we went out into the park in front of Camille's house to run through it once in the dark and without the acoustics of her front room. Magic. :)
Friday:
-Though I wasn't about to do the Squat machine because of my locked quads, may I say how much I absolutely beasted up the Bench Press? :D Yes I still require a spotter to help me, and yes I can still only lift the bar, but I'm getting stronger and Friday was the first day that it actually showed! Things are starting to look better for this little wimp!
-Talent Show auditions... holy. cow. Walking back from Seminary, Erika Danielle asked if she could watch Name Pending warm up. I said of course! I got into the Band hallway where we would be warming up and told Camille that, along with three of our other friends, Erika would be watching our run through. Camille said, "Alright, but four! That's it!" :) So we started, and we were rockin' it, and then I started to notice the crowd forming. Guys, nothing beat that! Students would be walking past and they would stop! To listen! To US! It was surreal. We ran through it again so that some of our friends could make a recording (but we made them promise not to Facebook until after the Talent Show) and then waited for our audition time. Our audition? We killed it. :) On our way out we were walking on air. We saw Mr. Coombes (our awesome Principal) practicing his clarinet in the Choir room and got the awesome idea to perform our song for him! We did. And he absolutely LOVED it! He even gave us a big group hug at the end and said how he couldn't wait to see it performed at the talent show! We proceeded to walk outside and give one last performance for some more of our friends from StuCo... guys, if we make it please come to the Talent Show! It's going to rock! :D I seriously can NOT wait!
So overall? Not a bad week. :) Not bad at all.
