Pregnancy Update: 20 Weeks

Well, looks like it's that time again! Time to document some things and make an exciting announcement... :)

What Does That Belly Look Like?
Well let me show you! :)
This little kid has seriously popped right out! It's so funny because so many people have told me, "Oh no... you are so petite, your belly bump is going to just be a tiny little bump, you'll be adorable." But friends... yes, I have a petite frame... I'm a small woman... where else does this poor baby have to go but OUT? Ha ha, clothes have definitely become a situation as the belly gets bigger and bigger, and my belly button is definitely confused about where it stands with all of these changes. ;) Taylor thinks that it'll turn into an out-y but I think that it'll just flatten out... we'll see.

How Big is Baby?
This baby is getting bigger and bigger every day and I can sure feel it!
At 10 1/2 ounces and 6 1/2 inches little baby Kerby is about the size of a banana.

Any Exciting News...? :)
YES! I'll stop keeping you in suspense, we had our gender ultrasound at exactly 19 weeks on my birthday. It was seriously one of the best birthdays I have ever had. Throughout this whole pregnancy I had been SO certain that this little baby was a boy, but from the beginning Taylor was always hoping for a girl. Gosh I got so cocky! ;) I was calling the baby a "he" and everything... ;)
So during the ultrasound our technician, bless her heart, needed to check everything on the baby to make sure that everything was growing and developing correctly. We knew how important this was and it was SO cool being able to see the spine and the fingers and the brain, etc... but we were just going CRAZY!!! So after a while Taylor asked if maybe she could just check really quick to settle our nerves and THEN go back to everything else... man did she get snippy! It was HILARIOUS! She looked him dead in the face and asked him what he cared about more... his baby's health or its genitals. It seriously took everything we had to keep it together! :) But in the end she finally made her way down and we finally got a look at our beautiful little DAUGHTER!!! :D (isn't her face just SO sweet?)
I was in SHOCK! It probably took a good day or so for it to really sink in for me but Taylor was ecstatic from the moment we saw the little "girl parts". We went out to breakfast afterwards at Village Inn and he showed everybody the ultrasound! :) It was so amazing to see him so excited for our little girl. Later that night we had a birthday dinner/baby gender reveal to tell our families. It was so much fun and definitely a shock because everybody else was pretty much thinking it'd be a boy too! ;)
We are sooo so excited for our sweet girl! :)

How Has Mommy Been Feeling?
Fine. :)
Ready to be big enough for maternity clothes.
Starting to have a tiny bit of nausea again... not nearly as bad as 1st trimester stuff though.
Sleeping fine.
No new stretch marks.
A little sore and tired by the end of the day but nothing I can complain about at all, I am really taking advantage of the stage I am at in this pregnancy and trying to just enjoy.

What's Been Going on With Food?
Red meat is suddenly and officially off of the menu! ;) Chicken is fine and fish is good on most days but most ever other meat does NOT work for me anymore! Baby girl has craved macaroni and cheese like a fiend since the beginning so that hasn't changed at all. Basically anything carb-y and/or chees-y this baby girl LOVES! Oh... and randomly buffalo wings. Wings every day.

Any Nesting Urges?
Don't even get me started! ;) It's probably been the craziest thing about me lately... it's nearly all I think about! We have already started moving some furniture around (our bed is now centered on the wall and the desk moved to the corner, and the dresser that was at the foot of the bed is now in the 2nd bedroom where the desk used to be, we've also cleared out all of our books from the 2nd bedroom and organized them into a bookshelf in the front room) and now it's time to de-clutter that 2nd bedroom and move the best of a piano into the kitchen... probably the most daunting task of the whole "moving stuff around" deal-eo. ;)
I've also been going crazy putting together our registry, researching diapering options, birthing methods, etc. We have decided for many reasons that we are going to use cloth diapers on little baby girl. We feel excited, and very peaceful about the decision. I've gotten a little bit of flack for it already, never anything terrible, more jokes like, "Oh, you're going to be one of those moms?" or "Right! Well, we'll see how long that phase lasts!". I know it seems weird to some, but we are  very confident that it's the best option for our family right now and are very excited. We've even started our stash already thanks to so AWESOME Craigslist deals!
Would you believe me if I told you that the pre-folds were $1 each and the pockets were $5 each? Unreal! (Plus... how cute are they?!?)

We are just so grateful for all of the support we've received from family members, friends, etc. We are so excited to keep preparing to bring this little girl into the world and we feel strengthened and blessed by God every day.
