Monday Thoughts

Scenario Number One:

So there a girl, right? We'll call her Janice. And there's a boy, right? We'll call him Rudy.

So Janice meets Rudy and falls head over heels. They've met on multiple occasions and talked and had fun, you know, and she has treasured every occasion.

Rudy doesn't remember one of them.

So they go to school together now and have started to become better friends and things are starting to look good for Janice.

Rudy is talking to her and being friendly with her. He even sets up multiple studying dates with her for math! On more than one occasion he's offered to drive her to her home in Chandler and once even drove all the way out there just to help her get a math concept only to have to drive right back home... not caring about the gas money.

When they are alone together and get to talking about the gospel they have the best most insightful and genuine conversations and Rudy talks to her about just about everything. He was even said to have told her, "Now Janice really, what did I ever do without you?! I mean, there are so many situations in my life where if I could have just talked to you about it, things would have turned out so much better!"

Seventh heaven for Janice right?

Well after a while it starts to get old. The only excuse he uses to talk to her is math, and it seems like it's time for one of them to start making a move... but Janice doesn't want to be the one to do it. She's old fashioned like that. But she also has absolutely no idea if the feelings are reciprocated! She also doesn't want to be too flirty with him because he's probably the most sought after boy at school (good lokkin' and knows it, you know?) and Rudy flirts with just about every girl at school!

Whenever he looks like he may be making a move, however, Janice scared stiff brushes it off, afraid that it's all just insincere (seeing as he flirts with everybody without a second thought). She doesn't want to get hurt by taking what he means as a joke seriously.

Janice wants him to know that she's different and isn't going to just fall all over him, but that she has substance. She genuinely cares about him past his looks and wants to get to know him better... "I mean, he'll see that and appreciate it won't he?" she thinks.

Whoops, guess again Janice.

Rudy starts pulling away and flirting with other girls outrageously.

You know the drill, prolonged hugs, excessive compliments, flirty touching, winking, teasing... but none of it to her. Barely even a side hug!

"What gives?!" she thinks!

And it really hurts her! Then this girl comes into her math class, right? We'll call her Gina.

Janice has never been Gina's biggest fan, but Rudy and Gina become best buds... like obnoxiously so. To the point where they're an obvious distraction in class and Janice is falling behind more than ever because one- Dude, Gina is totally moving in on Janice's hopes and dreams, and two- What with all of their giggling and joking and teasing during class, Janice can hardly focus on the teacher who teaches at 100mph!

"Seriously!" She yells at them in her mind, "Shut the heck up please!"

It pops up all over Facebook that the two of them are hanging out all weekend every weekend. It's vomitrocious.

Especially when Gina already supposedly has this boyfriend up in Utah. Mhm...

All hopes now of Janice ever appearing on Rudy's radar are most definately dashed, because now she's started speaking her mind (that gets her in trouble sometimes... she's a bit of a hot head) to Rudy. She's confronted him about his excessive flirting and warned him that if he gets the reputation of an outrageous flirt that one day when he likes a girl with actual substance that she's not going to take him seriously!

Of course he brushes it aside and gets offended when she keeps speaking her honest thoughts to him on the subject... not mincing words in the slightest.

It hurts her to talk to him like that knowing she's ruining all her chances with him, but it also feels good letting him know what just about every other girl in the school is thinking.

It's gotten pretty bad now, however. Now Rudy won't answer any of her texts and will barely talk to her!

He used to walk with her every day after math class ended to the parking lot (which Janice loved), but not anymore... he's much to focused with Gina to remember his old friend Janice.

And in their choir class he used to hide her water bottle as a joke (and hopefully maybe a little bit flirtingly) but nooooope. Not anymore!

And today (so I heard) Janice texted Rudy with an emergency homework question and do you know what she's heard back since then???

Zip.

She's heartbroken knowing that she screwed this all up for herself for being so dang guarded and hot headed, but can you really blame her? Rudy sounds like he's either a total two face, or just an insecure teenager who doesn't realize that if he just gave Janice a chance and stopped relying on the flirty attention of drooling wide-eyed little Freshman girls he might be really really happily surprised at what great friends they'd be.

*sigh* I guess I'll give her some advice tomorrow.

You know...

...at school when I see her... *wink wink*

Mimi didn't know that Janice liked Rudy. ;) Mimi finds that cute.
Mimi thinks things will brighten up for Janice. Rudy is a cloudy-headed, immature boy. A good one, no doubt, but still immature. He will get over himself and see the light soon enough. Especially after a mission knocks his brains back into their correct spots. Mimi is all up if Janice ever needs a listening ear in regards to this ever-frustrating Rudy. ;)

Definitely tell Janice to tell Rudy to take a hike. In a nice, ladylike manner if she must, but he is not worth her time. ;-)

Let me say with complete honesty, Janice is waaaaaay too good for Rudy, because he's an egotistical loser who we all love but secretly want to punch in the face. Not that Toria knows him... but you know.

You would use the name Gina for someone that you despise! I laughed at that.
But seriously, I stand behind what Toria said. I've wanted to hit that kid since like day one. I know I gave Janice the advice to go for him but I was wrong. He needs to use his brain.
