You know those times when you work the entire week for the weekend and you're so excited to kick back and relax, recharge, and just plain be a bum until school starts again on Monday? And then you wake up on Saturday morning with a stuffy nose, scratchy throat, and a churning stomach that's gonna blow any minute (out of which end is still uncertain...)? Yes. That just about sums up my weekend.
I woke up on Saturday morning and I felt like death. Death I tell you. And for me that is saying something because I hardly EVER get sick. But I had plans that day and I was determined to stay well... foolish me. I just made things worse. I had a babysitting job that night and I just wanted to curl up and die. And what's better is that the children that I was watching (who are normally very mellow) were... for lack of a better phrase, "not behaving". The little boy had a stuffy nose and whenever he sniffed he did it in the most disgusting manner possible and then made a gagging/lugi noise right up into my face... without fail... every single time. And then the daughter kept throwing throw-yourself-on-the-floor-kicking-and-screaming tantrums and the baby was just in a bad mood in general. And I was sick. Those parents are never going to ask me to babysit ever again.
So Sunday morning I knew pretty quickly that I wasn't going to church. I just hung out with Travis (who didn't feel good either) and watched church movies and Jon Bytheway DVDs. I didn't really eat all day, so by the end of the day I was a wreck. So here I am on Monday morning wishing that I could be at school (I can't believe I just typed that...... :S) or sleeping... but alas, I slept for 13 1/2 hours last night (not including Sunday morning) and I can't sleep a wink. I'll probably take some medicine, take a shower, work on homework, and then read my IRP book for the remainder of the day, but when times like these arise I find that blog hopping becomes one of the most enjoyable thigns on earth. :)
So thanks for reading! And I hope you have a better Monday than I do!
