How About an Update?

Hey there, guess what? I haven't posted in a couple weeks because of SCHOOL! School is almost out and these past couple of weeks have been stressful and jam-packed. So far I've

1. Written a four page research paper (which I got the highest grade in the class on... yay!)

2. Given a 3 1/2 minute memorized speech and almost started to hypervenilate (or however you spell that word).

3. Was forced to participate in a lab involving live crickets (the WORST bug on the face of this earth! I'm scared out of my mind of crickets! ... *shudders*)

4. Was freaking out really badly about which band I'd get into... and made Winde Ensemble again! Yay!

5. Have been having major issues with my ears. They hurt really bad all the time. We went to the doctor to see if it was an ear infection, but he said that there was definitely no ear infection in either of my ears and thought that it might be nerve damage from band/percussion... I'm going to an ENT on the 28th, and your prayers would be appreciated. I hope I get t do band again next year...

6. Have been reviewing for finals and watching my teachers panic because they're trying to cram in all of the stuff they forgot to teach... t'smore amusing than stressful for me, I retain information pretty well.

7. Have been SO thankful for seminary.

8. Just found out that I'm playing in the band for graduation *barf*.

9. Have been counting the days till school is out (4), my15th birthday (25), and my 16th birthday (390).

10. Have been so grateful to have the gospel in my life suring these stressful couple of days/weeks.

Anyhow, in between all of these crazy stressful school days, I've had many funny/painful/wacky/relaxing experiences... here they are!

I gave Jazee and Rylee a bath!Ya, remember that post where they weren't afraid of water anymore? Well, that day it had rained, and these two got themselves all muddy o our planter boxes... so I decided to bathe them. After all, wht kidn of dog owner would I be if I didn't? Anyhow, I was hopeful that they would be good this time since they had fun playing in the sprinklers that day... well... you be the judge... does these look like happy dogs to you?
I normally give them a shower as opposed to regular people with normals dogs do: bathing their dogs in the BATH tub. This is the reason why....
They looks innocent don't they?
Wrong! Look at this desperate break for freedom! I'd reather have her doing it when she's drying off and not when she soaking wet and splashing water EVERYWHERE! (Jazee did the same exact thing, I just didn't catch it on camera) I let them come into my room and sleep while they were drying off...They were two pooped pooches! After the two good hours of bathing, drying, and trying to run away the entire time, so was I!
I Burned Myself!
Ya, it was REALLY quite painful! I was tryingto curl my hair by wrapping it around the curling iron instead of clamping it inside. It was working (and turning out quite nicely might I add), until I went around to the back of my head. I didn't realize I was burning myself at first, all I rememebr was pulling my hair back, wrapping it around the curling iron, holding it there, and then... SEARING HOT BURNING OWEE SENSATION!
Of course, out of human natural lightning relfexes, I immediatley pulled my arm away from the curling iron and this is what I saw. Well, actually, I could hardly see anything. First I went and ran it under some cold water, came back into my room, and then took this picture. See the faint pink blob?
And then... what's this? It started to raise! Once this started to happen I was genuinely freaked out and in LOADS of pain. (It was stinging/searing/burning and throbing like no other) With the help of my friend Kyle and my wonderful mother (as a side note...you should check out her blog. I'm still trying to get her to update it, but she tries her best and does a very good job.) I ended up getting it iced and in less pain by the time I had to go to mutual.
I took this one right before I left to go to mutual.
Here's what my arm looked like after mutual. The burn itself was now all brown/purple (which was completely disgusting) and there was a red circle around it. Still very painful, (as another side note, Kyle [whom I mentioned earlier] madesure I was icing it during mutual which is mostly why I was in so much less pain during the activity... thanks!)The next morning I woke up (without rememebring my gross owee from the previous evening) and hopped into the warm/hot shower. Those of you who are reading this that have just burned yourselves with a hot curling iron... DO NOT take a hot shower until it's healed. Save yourselves the pain and screaming, it's not a good idea.
By the nex day the redness went down, but it sure looked gross! My feelings won't be hurt if you need to avert your eyes and recover from looking at it for so long.
Here's what it looks like today. Yep, it's not really a "burn" anymore i nmy mind, just an ugly scar of what was a really bad accident.

I Got a Really Cute Whiteboard to Stick to the Back of my Door!

I've been having LOTS of fun writing all over this bad boy, check it out!

...yes I drew Chris Lambson from seminary yelling at my to read my scriptures (some background information: my seminary class NEVER reads their scriptures. Chris and I, along with a couple others, are basically the only ones that read)... don't judge. =)

Something I Haven't Been Doing... Practicing This Bad Boy
Yes, it's true, my clarinet feels very neglected right now. I think I'll pick it up and run through the Stamitz Concerto I've been practicing for lessons after I'm finished writing this.

Realized That I'd Been Admiring the way one of my Dearest Friend Mimi Pins Her Bangs Back From Afar for far too Long and Decided That Enough Was Enough: It was High Time I Tried it Myself.

If I look tired and ugly in this picture, I only took it like two days ago, and that was the da I was memorizing my speech, so I was pretty stressed out that day and had lost LOTS of sleep that week. Other than that, I thinkI did a pretty fair job!
I Bought An Increadibly Cute Bag With the Help of my Wonderful Parents

I attended one of my good friend's purse party the other day, which was very fun, but it was sort of a fundraising thing for her cheerleading team and I was amazed (and if this offends anyone, then I'm sorry) at how many snobs were there! Brandi and her cute friend Theresa were just about the only two that I felt comfortable around there. It made me so thankful that I was raised by two parents that taught me not to be like that, because it was really rediculous the way some of those girls treated their mothers/grandmothers.

Anyhow, while I was there both Brandi and I found bags that we were in love with. And we both ended up getting them! Isn't it so cute?

Those of you who know me know that I had to take at least two artsy pictures of it! =)It even feels good to wear on your hip! Shopping with this thing will sure be fun!

Got a Chance to Read a Good Book

Do you all rememebr my Scary Things post? Remember when I said how good of a book The Brothers (the first book in The great and Terrible series) was? Well, I finished it and am now getting into the second. It's been very good for me to just sit down adn read every now and again.

Anyhow, that's what's been going on with me lately. Thanks for reading, your comments are well apprecieated (I love them! Those of you who regularly comment on my blog, thank you! They make my day.)

Yea for school to be out soon! Are you doing anything fun this summer? Traveling? A big CONGRATS on your research paper! That is impressive and also for making it into the band you wanted. We still have to go to one of your concerts. I hope you ears get better so you don't have to give up band. You do have great parents that have taught you the right things. I hope my girls grow up like that! Talk to you later.

Wow Jadyn, I think that is the longest blog post I have ever read, but it was all very interesting. (and it makes up for your mom's that is BORING, post already lady, jk)

That burn looks SO incredibly painful, but don't worry, I didn't avert my eyes.

Your bag is super cute, and I really liked your bangs pinned up, you'll have to show me how to do that, my bangs bug sometimes.

And you are right, you do have great parents, and it is excellent that you recognize that. You are a good person (and beautiful too) and I'm glad that I know you!!!
